"The apparent trading error by Knight Capital Group on Wednesday reflects the type of event that can raise concerns for investors about our nation's equity markets - markets that I believe are the most resilient, efficient and robust in the world," Schapiro said in a statement. ... |

| Goldman agreed to buys stocks from Knight Wednesday: CNBC Posted: 03 Aug 2012 01:17 PM PDT (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs Group Inc agreed to buy a block of stocks from Knight Capital Group Inc the day of its trading malfunction, CNBC reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. Knight had inadvertently acquired the stocks on Wednesday due to a trading software error and Goldman agreed to buy the stocks from Knight after the close of trading that afternoon, CNBC reported, the people said.
